Once the student has become proficient at both clapping and singing the rhythm, the next step will have the student actually play the music on the keyboard.
The student will first clap the rhythm pattern and then sing it afterward before playing this on the keyboard. This helps reinforce early concepts.
At this point, students are only playing one note but will feel confident in their learning abilities because they will be successful learning up to this point.
